WHY REMOVE A STUMP?
When you can have a carved garden sculpture
designed just for you!
Whether it’s an eyesore stump you’re looking to transform, or an idea you're longing to see brought to life… For all your chainsaw carving and wood-art needs, big or small, I’m happy to help. Feel free to reach out!
Servicing the Bay of Quinte, Brighton, Prince Edward County, Hastings, Northumberland, and area.
My sculptures are carved from naturally fallen wood, or from trees that have been diseased, distressed, or have become a hazard to people or property. For smaller projects, I source wood from sustainably managed, private woodlots located within 50 km of my shop.
Let's create something beautiful together!
“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

ABOUT BOISLUXE
Dead trees still emit living energy.
...Even after you cut them up and craft them down; the bench you've made still breathes and sighs, and inhabits the space you build with it. I want you to take home a piece of that living energy. A new, family landmark: a cherished wall-hanging or bust: memorial of a loved one. Whatever the project… When it’s made with wood it's made with love. There’s life in every splinter.
My name is Daniel Decouvreur, proud husband, sculptor, and woodworker on the Bay of Quinte. I was formally trained at the Toronto School of Art, and I’m currently employed by Research Casting International: a world-renowned provider of museum technical services. Outside of my day-job, I create works of wooden luxury.
BoisLuxe, translates to, Luxury Wood.
It was once the name of a high-quality woodworking business, owned and operated by my grandfather, Gilbert
De Couvreur Ph.D. Although the works I create are very different from his intricate designs, I am honoured to carry on the tradition of thoughtful, passionate woodcraft. With the use of modern tools, like chainsaws and power grinders, I endeavour to deliver the same Luxury in Wood that my grandfather faithfully exemplified. ...Only, bigger!
